After purchasing my Printerbot Simple Metal in May of 2014, I had a strong desire to have an LCD display to show the status of the print and to be able to test move the bot without PC intervention. At the time the LCD offered by Printrbot was about $65 which seemed like a lot to me since I knew that the components required to build it could be had for less than $20 plus the cost of a PCB. So I set off to design my own. The pages listed below show that build.
